PPP Mobile Protocol

The latest patch 16284 is for adding a new PPP protocol for the mobile internet connections. It offers an alternative option while connecting to the mobile carrier’s network.

Some of the mobile carriers might not support the new QMI protocol, such as EE in the UK. The PPP protocol can enable your router to connect to their network by simply switching from QMI protocol to the PPP protocol.

PPP protocol is a traditional protocol to access mobile networks, and it can be supported by most of the mobile carriers. However, if your cellular carrier supports the QMI protocol, we strongly suggest you to use QMI protocol to get a faster speed.
